Campaigning is period of time given to candidates to get their name out, promote their policies and win votes.

You are given an allowance for campaigning depending on what you are running for. This is the amount of money you are aloud to spend up to on campaigning. So JCR positions will be aloud £10, FTOs £30.

How long is the campaigning period?

PG Board Candidates have 1 week of campaigning which overlaps with the the 3 day voting period. This is over week 2 of first term.

JCR and PTO candidates have 1 week of campaigning which overlaps with the the 3 day voting period. This is over week 8 of first term

FTO candidates have 2 weeks of campaigning which starts in week 7 and includes the 3 day voting period in week 8.

When campaigning you should have a manifesto. This is a list of things you will aim to do if you are elected and these points should be included in your hust.

Getting your name out there as much as possible with your key manifesto points is a good way to go. You can do this with a Facebook page and other forms of social media, posters, flyers, bed sheets and of course talking to people.
